Summer STP

White Bear Hockey Summer Training Program (STP)

The heart of this program is to develop hockey skills, to keep summer hockey affordable, and respectful of summer sports and leisure activities. Ultimately, our hope is to have the hockey players of White Bear Lake “Train Together & Win Together.”

This summer, we will be adding two additional weeks in August for a total of 8 weeks, 5 days per week (Monday through Friday), and typically 2 hours per day. Squirts/10U through Bantams/15U will receive 70 hours of training over the summer; making the overall cost less than $10/hour!

The camp will consist of on-ice skill development, dryland training (plyometrics, sprinting, shooting, stickhandling, etc.), treadmill skating, and roller hockey training instructed by current White Bear coaches and former White Bear players.

We are pleased to announce that we will be expanding our goalie training with Hunter Miska this summer. Hunter will be on ice on Mondays and Tuesdays working with goalies during the group ice times, plus Lake Area Goaltending will have Goalies Only training on Fridays. Hunter currently is playing professionally in Germany, played collegiately for the Bulldogs, and for the Colorado Avalanche and Arizona Coyotes in the NHL.

The training camp will be offered to Mites/8U 2/3/4 through Bantams/15U, and will be structured so that players of similar ability levels will train together. Last year’s team assignment and coach’s recommendations will influence players’ group placement.
Note: Players with Bantam eligibility and who played on the AA or A team last season will have an opportunity to train with both the High School team and the Bantam Group (see notes below in the weekly schedule).

The camp will begin June 10th and run through August 16th with the first weeks of July and August off. Register as soon as possible, space is limited.

Roller Hockey Skate Order: If your child is in need of new roller hockey skates, wheels, or bearing, we will be emailing out an order form for discounted prices in March. These will be better skates/wheels than the store models in the area. There will be a wide variety of price options to select from. Also, if you have an old pair of roller hockey skates that you would like to donate or sell back, reach out to Joe Dustin at We can clean them up, add new wheels/bearings and recycle the skates back to the players.
