After two shutouts and a heart-stopping comeback/overtime victory over Stillwater in the semi-finals, Squirt B Orange fell 3-0 to Squirt B White in the District Championship. 

Congratulations to the kids on a great season.  Thank you for giving us your very best.

In a battle for gatorade and gift certificates, Ethan Hamme (left) and Will Moris hoist the cup after tying for first overall in the 2010 skills competition held March 3 at the Hipp. Bailey Thelen (not pictured) took third after a shootout tiebreaker. Players were tested in four categories: speed, shooting accuracy, breakaway scoring, and agility stickhandling. All team members competed hard, did well in their areas of strength, and had fun.

At the prestigious 16-team Highland Icebreaker Tournament, held at Charles M. Schulz arena, the boys took first in their bracket with wins over very tough teams from Anoka, Highland and Eden Prairie--with the Anoka and EP games going in to overtime. Then it was on to the "super championship" game against high-flying Edina on Sunday afternoon--the boys took second overall after a gut-wrenching shootout loss.  Every player on the roster contributed in a total team effort.  Great weekend, guys.

White Bear Orange traveled west to Alexandria (“Easy to get to, hard to leave”) the weekend of December 5^th and went 2-1, good enough to bring home the third place trophy.  A Sunday morning 5-2 victory over Osseo/Maple Grove Orange, in which the Bears scored five seconds into the game and never looked back, capped off a successful weekend marked by solid defense and goaltending, puck movement, and team play.  Nice job boys!

Matthew Johnson puts the biscuit in the basket vs. Tartan at the Thanksgiving tournament in Blaine. After an opening round loss to Edina, 3-2 in a barnburner, WB Orange went on to outscore its opponents 16-1 over the next two games in capturing the Consolation trophy.  Way to go guys!
